Today we showed each other what we have been able to make with the two sensors. I used the Light intensity sensor and Mihhail used the proximity sensor. I got it to stop working once there is a high level of light which is more logical as when its dark the light is on. Mihhail had the proximity sensor react to that when you get closer the faster the light blinks. This got us to think what the device is responding to. As LDR sensors were at both of our disposals we decided to use them.
We were stuck on what we wanted to reach as we looked at the different examples of curves we felt we have explored a lot of aspects of emotions but were unsure of what the the next step would be. By talking to Jens things got clearer where we had this idea of a story within the interaction as a means to explore and manifest the different emotions within these different examples. Through having a kind of story, you can see the past impact, present, and future. An example could be the experience of rain, before it rains you are dry, during the rain you get wet, after the rain you are soaked then back to a dry state. With this thinking it became more clear of what is expected of us, as this course is explorative it can become tough to know where you are heading to. We started thinking of what kind of story we can tell. We were also advised to take a step back into sequences which we will do to try and tell a story for Monday.
We are still trying to work with the idea of constraint and how do the different states can react but by building a story and connecting to emotions then to sequences is what we are going to do. I think we might of moved too fast this week and now we have to go back to the experience of each part of the “story” within the sequences. We also introduced sensors which was planned for week two of the project.
